Madison Munro
Madison Munro empathetically engages with the world around her. A self-described 70-year-old trapped in a young body, Madison approaches her practice gently and allows for as much play as possible. Recently, Madison received a Shuchat grant where she produced an installation entitled I AM monotony THIS IS chaos. The exhibit was produced out of a desire to artistically respond to the physical and metaphysical effects of the covid-19 pandemic. Composed of a large freeform crochet piece, monotype prints, and other found materials, the exhibit explored nuanced intersections such as monotony, repetition, chaos, and newness. Munro was born in Seattle, Washington, and raised in Salem, Oregon.
